EnergyCo NSW
NSW RENEWABLE ENERGY ZONES AND PRIORITY TRANSMISSION INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
EnergyCo leads the delivery of renewable energy zones (REZs) to ensure long-term energy security for NSW.
These zones will harness the state's abundant wind and solar resources to keep the lights on and deliver clean, affordable and reliable electricity to everyone in the state.
The work EnergyCo is doing under the NSW Government's Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap (the Roadmap) involves upgrading the grid to connect new generation and storage projects into the electricity system.
EnergyCo is the infrastructure planner for 5 REZ and 2 priority transmission infrastructure projects. These are:
- Central-West Orana REZ
- New England REZ
- South-West REZ
- Hunter-Central Coast REZ
- Illawarra REZ
- The Hunter Transmission Project
- The Waratah Super Battery Project
EnergyCo also coordinates enabling infrastructure work like road upgrades across the state. This is necessary to deliver our projects efficiently and with the greatest value for our communities.
