LODDON MALLEE REGION PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES (INC. BENDIGO, MILDURA AND SWAN HILL)
Victoria's Loddon Mallee Region occupies more than a quarter of Victoria and includes the main towns of Bendigo, Castlemaine, Echuca, Gisborne, Kerang, Kyneton, Maryborough, Mildura, Swan Hill, Wedderburn and Wycheproof.
Home to more than 350,000 people and projected growth of another 100,000 people by 2051 (Victoria in Future 2023 Population and Housing). This presents significant infrastructure needs including a steady pipeline of new hospitals and schools, community housing and energy infrastructure. The region has a growing economy in tourism, viticulture, equine, horticulture, crops, cattle, manufacturing and wool production. As a major food producing area, the region is also home to a vibrant manufacturing and service sector.
The following list of projects (link through to a separate Gateway page) or work packages listed at the bottom of this page presents exciting opportunities throughout the region. Each initiative is designed to strengthen the regional economy, support local innovation, and enhance community wellbeing.

Work Packages
AW Nicholson is the head contractor for Bendigo Showgrounds upgrade which is part of the Victorian Governments Regional Sports Infrastructure Program. The redevelopment will deliver, a new multipurpose pavilion with flexible community and event spaces, upgrades to the grass arena and lighting towers, and upgrades to all four entrances and perimeter fencing.
Local capabilities in the following areas are being sought: painting, carpentry, metal works, plastering, tiling and carpentry, blind installation, mechanical trades, electrical trades, plumbing, landscaping, brick/stone works, machinery/equipment/plant hire, crane hire, waterproofing and line marking.
