The Werribee Open Range Zoo (WORZ) Expansion will deliver a world-class experience, with a purpose-built 21-hectare elephant habitat to house Zoos Victoria's growing Asian elephant herd, ropeway gondola, new cafe, habitats for Southern white rhino, Asian wild horse and American bison and a brand new waterhole trail. As a not-for-profit conservation organisation, the Werribee Open Range Zoo Expansion will connect more visitors with animals in a meaningful way and educate a larger audience about Zoos Victoria's conservation and fighting extinction work.
The first major procurement is for Project 3: Ropeway Gondola under and Design & Construct (D&C) contract with a nominated ropeway supplier. Design and construction of the ropeway gondola (aerial gondola system) will connect the Waterhole Cafe and mid-station (Entrance) including garage, canopy stations and landscaping works before extending out and back to the lower savannah. There will be 13 towers with 8-person gondolas.
Local Content
The Local Content Targets set for this Project are:
- Construction - 91%
- Furniture, Fixtures and Fittings (FF&E) - 83%
- Ropeways Cable Car - 30%
Timing
Construction is expected to commence late 2022 and be complete by late 2024.
Please Note - this is NOT an EOI for the Main Works Contractor as this process has already been undertaken by Development Victoria. However if you are a sub-contractor, manufacturer and/or product supplier please complete an EOI below.
