Hydrostor Inc. is the world's leading developer of utility scale Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) systems. A-CAES NSW Pty Ltd (A-CAES NSW) will build the Silver City Energy Storage (SCES) Project (the Project), which will use Hydrostor's proprietary advanced compressed air energy storage (A-CAES) technology to provide large-scale, long-duration energy storage for Broken Hill and the Far West of NSW.
Located in Broken Hill, NSW, the Silver City Energy Storage Centre will provide more than 8 hours of 200 MW of energy storage for clean, reliable energy that can provide much needed energy storage and back-up power for Broken Hill and the Far West of NSW.
The Project consists of the SCES Facility and a new 220 kV electricity transmission line approximately 16 km in length.
The SCES Project contracting model has been divided into three principal areas,
* Surface,
* Subsurface and
* HV Transmission facilities.
The Project is well advanced in the process of engaging the main Works and Supply packages for these three areas of the contracting model.
Under this contracting model, the main Works contractors are responsible for managing their procurement processes for their respective areas of scope. The award of main Works contractors will be published on our website when finalised.
