About the Project Owner

SRL Ops Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunrise Energy Metals (SEM)

The Project - Sunrise Battery Materials Complex

As one of the largest nickel-cobalt-scandium deposits in the world, with all key permits and approvals in place, the Sunrise Project is uniquely placed to become a strategic supplier of battery raw materials and aluminum-scandium alloys.

Sunrise Energy Metals (SEM) aspires to be a world leader in the supply of metals that lower the environmental burden, both in the way they are produced and the way they are consumed. SEM is developing its world-class Sunrise Nickel Cobalt Scandium Project, utilising its Clean-iXR technology. The Sunrise deposit is one of the largest and highest-grade undeveloped nickel and cobalt resources outside Africa and contains the world's largest and highest-grade scandium resource.

The Sunrise deposit is situated in central west New South Wales, approximately 350 km WNW of Sydney. The project site is shown below.

Sourcing 100% renewable power, the Sunrise Project is designed and engineered to optimize the production process for high purity battery materials by lowering cost, improving product quality and minimizing carbon emissions.

SEM completed an updated feasibility study referred to as the Project Execution Plan in September 2020 which outlined an overall cost of $2.389B AUD and a 3 year construction period to deliver the project. The Sunrise project is managed by SRL Ops Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunrise Energy Metals Ltd.
