Tasmanian businesses, with an interest to supply into green HYDROGEN energy projects, will soon be able to register for inclusion in the Tasmanian Green Hydrogen Supply Chain Directory. The aim of this Directory is also to connect local suppliers with green hydrogen project proponents.
Growing Tasmania's renewable energy sector
To drive investment and expansion of the renewable energy sector, the Tasmanian Government has legislated the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Target, to double the state's renewable electricity production (from 2020 levels) by 2040, with an interim target of 150 per cent by 2030.
Tasmania's renewable energy sector is undergoing unprecedented growth. Nationally significant projects such as Project Marinus and Battery of the Nation are being actively progressed and there has been major expansion in wind farm investment. Tasmania is also pursuing the opportunity to become a leader in the emerging global renewable hydrogen industry.

Tasmanian Renewable Energy Supply Chain Directory
Tasmania's local businesses have a diverse range of capabilities that can help proponents deliver renewable energy projects. Renewables, Climate and Future Industries Tasmania has partnered with ICN Tasmania to develop a Renewable Energy - Tasmanian Supply Chain Capability Directory that will assist renewable energy proponents to identify Tasmanian businesses with the capabilities they need.
The Directory aims to increase the participation of Tasmanian providers of goods and services in future renewable energy projects and to grow local industry capability and capacity.
Suppliers included in the Directory will receive first-hand notifications of Expression of Interests for renewable energy projects. They will also be matched with and promoted to project proponents depending on the proponent's requirements.
Renewable energy project proponents can work with ICN Tasmania to access the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Supply Chain Directory. ICN Tasmania can match business capability with the exact requirements of a project proponent and support proponents in the delivery of projects.
Renewable Energy Projects - Capability Requirements
Renewable energy projects are multi-faceted undertakings that offer a wide range of supply opportunities in the areas of components, electrical Balance of Plant, civil/site works and Project Management services.
If you think you have business capabilities to supply into renewable energy projects, submit an expression of interest (under the work packages tab above) for inclusion in the Directory.
The goal of the Directory will be to identify and detail Tasmanian businesses and companies currently operating, or with the capability to work on and supply, renewable energy projects.
How to be included in the Directory
- To join the Directory, you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) under the 'work packages' tab. Once your EOI submitted, your company will be added to the Directory.
- To submit an EOI, Tasmanian businesses must have an ICN Gateway company profile.
- If you do not have an ICN Gateway profile click here to register. A free ICN registration will enable you to submit EOIs and connect with project proponents.
- ICN registration is only required once and takes approximately 20 minutes; A log-in will be provided upon confirmation of business details.
- Registration tip: Make sure you select all your business capabilities in the company profile and select to have email notifications to match your capabilities to receive information on project opportunities relevant to your business.
- Assistance is available through the web links listed below or by contacting Bruno Ferreira, ICN Tasmania - Industry Specialist: Bruno.Ferreira@stategrowth.tas.gov.au
If you would like to be added to the Directory, please click 'CREATE EOI', complete the questionnaire and click SUBMIT. You will receive notifications of upcoming project opportunities and of associated industry briefings.
The Directory will be also used by ReCFIT to promote Tasmanian business capabilities to renewable energy project proponents.
Note: You can fill out an Expression of Interest form exclusively on a computer or laptop device.
