Lendlease have been engaged under an ECI Contract (Early Contractor Involvement) on the $3.2b New Women's and Children's Hospital (New WCH), located at the site of the former South Australian Police Barracks.
This engagement includes the development of key inputs such as time, cost and quality advice, along with early construction works, including the New WCH's eight storey, 1,300 space car park.
This is ahead of the conversion of the current ECI to MC Contract (Managing Contractor), where Lendlease will deliver the full project scope including the main clinical building and central energy plant.
The new hospital will include a dedicated helipad, 414 overnight beds, space for a 20 bed future expansion, and a four bed integrated intensive care unit for women, co-located with the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Environmental sustainability is also a key focus for the all-electric design of the new hospital. Through the project, 30,000 square metres of Park Lands will be restored, providing connections to open green space for patients and their families.
