Newmont Goldcorp has mine operations located in the Tanami Desert of the Northern Territory of Australia. These operations comprise the Granites Processing plant, located 560 km northwest of Alice Springs and 940 km southwest of Darwin and Dead Bullock Soak (DBS), located 42 km to the west of The Granites Processing Plant. The TE 2 project aims to provide a deepening and expansion of the Callie Underground Mine at DBS to access ore at depth and increase production to 3.2 million tonnes per annum.

As part of the Tanami Expansion Project 2 (TE2), a new village will be developed at the mining operations area known as Dead Bullocks Soak, for now the village is referred to as the DBS Village. The village operates as a residence for personnel and visitors working at the DBS mining operations. The village is expected to have a staged lifespan of up to 20 years. The scope of works includes all soft-scaping and hardscaping for the DBS mine village (design by others).
