Jervois Copper Project
Overview
KGL Resources Limited is progressing the Jervois Copper Project, a copper, silver and gold project located in Central Australia in the Northern Territory.
The Jervois Copper Project is located on existing mineral leases approximately 380 km by road east-north-east of Alice Springs. The project is accessed via the Plenty Highway.
Jervois has a Mineral Resource Estimate of 27.45 Mt at 1.87% Cu, 25.3 g/t Ag and 0.24 g/t Au. This represents approximately 513.4 kt Cu, 22.37 Moz Ag and 214.5 koz Au. The Mineral Resource includes open cut and underground components, and the current development case is based on a 10 year mine life.
Open cut mining is planned at Reward and Bellbird, with underground mining planned at Reward, Rockface, Bellbird and Marshall. The current mine sequence includes 5.98 Mt at 1.27% Cu from Reward open cut, 2.82 Mt at 1.47% Cu from Bellbird open cut, 3.16 Mt at 1.86% Cu from Reward underground, 3.35 Mt at 2.53% Cu from Rockface underground, 1.38 Mt at 1.59% Cu from Bellbird underground and 1.83 Mt at 1.19% Cu from Marshall underground.
The project includes an on-site processing plant with a design capacity of 2 Mtpa. The plant will use conventional crushing, grinding, flotation and thickening to produce a single copper concentrate. Over the life of mine, Jervois is expected to produce approximately 1.07 Mt dmt of copper concentrate. The concentrate is expected to contain approximately 276.8 kt Cu, 10.541 Moz Ag and 87.0 koz Au. The estimated concentrate grade is 26% Cu, 307 g/t Ag and 2.53 g/t Au.
Project infrastructure includes site preparation, civil works, roads and pads, construction camp accommodation, water supply, environmental bonding, a 2 Mtpa concentrator, borefield and water supply system, 10 MW power generation, 250 accommodation units, an airstrip, tailings storage facility and supporting mine infrastructure and buildings. Later project infrastructure may include underground infrastructure, tailings storage facility capacity increases and general sustaining capital works.
The current project delivery schedule includes commissioning and ramp-up during H1 2028, with steady-state throughput capacity from H2 2028.
