Powerlink is delivering a portfolio of electricity transmission projects across Central Queensland to ensure the security of energy supply and the stability of the grid. This is a critical step in reinforcing the network, enabling the transition of power assets such as Gladstone Power Station with new energy sources while maintaining system strength and reliability.

These projects are at varying stages of planning, assessment and delivery and will be implemented progressively, subject to regulatory approvals, investment decisions and funding processes.

Powerlink is using a coordinated, program level approach across its Central Queensland projects to maximise opportunities for local and Indigenous businesses, while ensuring safe, efficient and reliable delivery of critical transmission infrastructure.

Calvale to Calliope River Transmission Line Reinforcement Project

Powerlink is constructing a new 87km double circuit 275kV transmission line in Central Queensland, connecting the Calvale Substation ( near Callide Power Station, in the Banana Shire region) to the Calliope River Substation (near Gladstone, in the Gladstone Region). The project will strengthen and increase the capacity of the transmission network across this corridor, supporting reliability and future energy demand in Central Queensland.

Major Contract Awarded

For the Calvale to Calliope River Reinforcement Project, BMD has been engaged to deliver site preparation and access works, CPP has been engaged to deliver transmission line and substation works, and Zinfra has recently been awarded additional transmission line and substation works.

How will Gateway by ICN information be used?

The Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and registrations previously sought for these work packages have now closed.

Information submitted through Gateway by ICN forms part of Powerlink's Central Queensland Supplier Register and is used to understand regional business capability and capacity, support local and Indigenous participation outcomes, and connect delivery partners with potential suppliers and subcontractors.

Powerlink shares relevant supplier information with delivery partners, including BMD Constructions, to assist with procurement planning and supplier identification. As opportunities arise, BMD may review businesses that have registered their interest and contact suppliers whose capabilities align with specific project requirements.

A general registration remains open on Gateway by ICN for businesses wishing to express interest in future opportunities associated with Powerlink's Central Queensland projects.

How does the principal contractors procurement process work?

How Registrations of Interest Will Be Used

Once a business has completed a Gateway by ICN registration, their details will form part of Powerlink's Central Queensland Supplier Register.

This Register may be used by Powerlink and/or principal contractors to:

• Identify suppliers with relevant capability and experience
• Seek additional information or clarification
• Invite suppliers to participate in tendering or quotation processes for specific work packages as they become available
• Registration does not guarantee inclusion in future procurement activities.
• ICN will be used to inform participation strategies across relevant Central Queensland projects as opportunities arise.

Assistance With ICN Registrations

Businesses seeking to participate in Powerlink's Central Queensland projects are required to register through Gateway by ICN. Registration enables Powerlink and its contractors to better understand supplier capability and capacity and supports market analysis and procurement planning across relevant projects.

Suppliers requiring assistance with the Gateway by ICN platform can refer to the 'EOI User Guide' below for instructions and assistance to submit an EOI.

• Ensure their Gateway by ICN company profile is complete, current and accurate;
• Enable email notifications for relevant supply opportunities;
• Register their interest against applicable opportunities as a full or partial scope supplier, where relevant and;
• Respond fully to all Project-specific and work package-specific questions.
