Global Indigenous Fashion Festival & Trade Expo 2027
Led and governed by Global Indigenous Management (GIM), the Global Indigenous Fashion Festival & Trade Expo 2027 is an international Indigenous-led platform connecting First Nations businesses, designers and brands (fashion and creative industry) with buyers, retailers, manufacturers, investors, exporters, government, corporate partners and national and international markets.
Held at Melbourne Showgrounds from 7-11 April 2027, the Festival is more than an event or traditional trade show. It is a gateway for business, trade, investment, industry collaboration and market development, designed to create genuine commercial pathways for First Nations enterprise and creativity.
Victorian Aboriginal businesses and designers will be a priority, while the broader platform will connect Indigenous businesses and designers from across Australia and internationally, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, manufacturing, buyer engagement, procurement, retail, export, investment and collaboration.
At the heart of the Festival is a connected program of trade, business, fashion, culture and industry engagement, including the Trade Expo and Marketplace, B2B and Buyer Program, Industry Sessions, Runway experiences, and opportunities for national and international collaboration.
Manufacturers and supply-chain partners can connect with businesses seeking production solutions; buyers, retailers and wholesalers can discover First Nations brands and products; exporters and distributors can explore new market pathways; and investors, corporates, government and industry partners can identify opportunities for investment, procurement, sponsorship, collaboration and long-term partnership.
GIM is particularly focused on building multi-year and legacy partnerships that extend beyond the Festival and create sustainable pathways for First Nations businesses, designers and creatives into industry, trade and national and international markets.
The goal is not to create a passive exhibition, but an active commercial ecosystem where culture, creativity and enterprise come together - enabling First Nations businesses to be seen, build capability, form meaningful industry relationships, access new markets and grow.
