BEACH ENERGY (OPERATIONS) LIMITED

Otway Offshore Phase 6 Project

Overview

Beach Energy is a key supplier to Australia's East Coast domestic gas market producing domestic gas through existing infrastructure in the Otway Basin, offshore Victoria, providing critical energy resources for Australia.

Within the Otway Basin, Beach extracts natural gas and hydrocarbon liquids from the Thylacine field via the Thylacine A offshore platform, transporting it to shore to the Otway Gas Plant (OGP) near Port Campbell in Victoria. The Thylacine Platform is connected to the OGP via the Otway Gas Production Pipeline (OGPP) which comprises a 70km offshore and a 11km onshore section.

In close proximity to the current producing assets, there are a number of smaller discovered gas fields. The Otway Offshore Phase 6 Project initiates a strategy to develop the currently stranded gas reserves through utilisation of the existing offshore infrastructure.

The Project includes the facilities installation activities to tie-back the successful Equinox Drilling Campaign wells, including Artisan and La Bella, to the existing OGPP. The Project includes: detailed design and engineering; installation and connection to the existing infrastructure; and brownfields activities, to facilitate production through the OGP.

The saturation diving scope supports critical subsea intervention and Hot tap tee tie in activities at the ADIS location (70 m water depth) on an existing live gas export pipeline. The work is carried out in water depths requiring an offshore saturation diving spread to safely execute high precision mechanical and structural tasks. This scope requires diving support vessels (DSVs), dive systems, a Hyperbaric Rescue Vessel and Facility, specialist tooling, Installation engineering and analysis and offshore logistics support, all operating under Australian offshore safety and regulatory requirements.
