About Aimpoint
Aimpoint is an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Group Training Organisation (GTO) supporting Defence and Defence industry with workforce development, apprenticeships and traineeships, and nationally recognised training aligned to real operational environments. We work with Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), primes, SMEs, and the broader Defence supply chain to build job-ready skills across technical trades, engineering and manufacturing, logistics, project delivery, and business and leadership functions.
As an RTO, Aimpoint designs and delivers compliant training and assessment that is practical, outcomes-focused, and built around workplace application. Our programs combine structured learning with hands-on capability development, using industry-relevant scenarios and evidence requirements that support audit readiness and consistent quality across delivery locations. We also support Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathways to help experienced personnel, including veterans, convert existing skills into nationally recognised outcomes where appropriate.
As a GTO, Aimpoint employs apprentices and trainees and places them with host employers across Defence projects and supporting industries. This model reduces employment risk for hosts and ensures apprentices and trainees receive the pastoral care, compliance oversight, and workforce support needed to stay on track. Aimpoint manages key employment obligations, progress monitoring, training coordination, and stakeholder communication so host employers can focus on operations while still building a reliable, future-fit workforce.
Our value is in bringing training delivery and workforce management together under one integrated model, helping Defence industry partners attract, develop, and retain talent while maintaining high standards of governance, safety, and performance.
About the EOI
Within the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) Enterprise Workforce Branch, the Skills and Training Academy (STA) Directorate commenced the rollout of workforce pilot initiatives in 2024 to support delivery of Australia's AUKUS commitments. These initiatives are focused on attracting, recruiting, developing, qualifying, and retaining a sustainable and highly skilled Australian workforce and strengthening the national industrial base.
As part of STA's strategic intent, this program seeks to increase the supply of suitably qualified Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians to support workforce pipelines into the Nuclear-Powered Submarine (NPS) Optimal Pathway, the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Enterprise, and the broader Australian industrial base. The NDT Traineeship is designed to support up to 60 trainees over a four-year period, combining formal education with structured on-the-job training to achieve full qualification and workforce readiness.
Aimpoint is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably capable and experienced subcontractors to support Aimpoints tender submission and potential delivery of components if this program is awarded. Subcontractors may be engaged by the successful tenderer to deliver discrete work packages aligned to program objectives, workforce growth outcomes, and Defence and Commonwealth requirements.
