NEW WOMEN AND BABIES HOSPITAL
The landmark New Women and Babies Hospital Project is set to expand services and choice for women, newborns and families, replacing the century-old King Edward Memorial Hospital.
The project includes:
- a new state-of-the-art Women and Babies Hospital and two new multi-deck car parks within the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct
- a major expansion of Osborne Park Hospital
- an expansion of neonatal services at Perth Children's Hospital.
It is expected to create more than 1,400 local jobs during construction and provide opportunities for local suppliers and contractors.
WA Life, part of the Webuild Group, is the Managing Contractor for the new Women and Babies Hospital at the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct and the Osborne Park Hospital expansion.
The new Women and Babies Hospital will include:
- inpatient facilities for gynaecology and maternity patients
- a neonatology unit for newborns needing specialised care
- operating theatres
- a family birth centre
- outpatient clinics.
The Osborne Park Hospital expansion will include:
- expanded services for maternity, gynecology and neonatology
- mother baby unit to support the mental health of expectant and new mothers
- a family birth centre
- obstetrics theatres
- upgraded support services including pharmacy, pathology, sterilisation, kitchen and catering services
- outpatient clinics.
