Introduction
The Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032 (the Games) marks a transformative moment for Queensland, Australia, and the global Olympic and Paralympic movements. As the first Games to be awarded under the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) new approach to sustainable and legacy-focused hosting, Brisbane 2032 is more than a sporting event-it's a catalyst for economic, social, and environmental progress across the region.
Project Overview
The Games will be hosted across Brisbane, Queensland, and Australia, leveraging existing infrastructure and focusing on long-term community benefit. These Games aim to deliver enduring benefits for our communities, environment, and the economy.
The Games will feature 28 Olympic and 22 Paralympic sports, with venues spread from Cairns to Coolangatta, as well as previous Games Hosts, Sydney and Melbourne.

- 2024: Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority established
- 2025: Queensland Government announces the 2032 Delivery Plan
- 2025-2028: New and upgraded venue design and construction commences
- 2026 - 2031: Temporary infrastructure procurement and operational planning
- 2031-2032: Testing, readiness and Games delivery
