Adbri (originally known as Adelaide Brighton) is one of Australia's pioneering construction materials and industrial mineral manufacturing companies, with origins dating back to 1882. Adbri has over 200 plants and facilities across Australia and 9 respected fully owned brands.
As part of Adbri's commitment to its four pillars - Safety, Customer Focus, Inclusivity and Sustainable Growth - it adopts a systematic and continuous improvement approach to reducing environmental impacts and to ensure its operations contribute to a sustainable future for the environment.
Adbri has made notable progress in emission reduction at its Birkenhead site, integrating alternative fuels alongside natural gas in the clinker manufacturing phase. Further study options to decrease greenhouse gas emissions include the front end engineering and design studies and the potential upgrade of miling capacity and construction of a post-production blending system.
Adbri has been awarded a federal grant of $50m under the Powering The Regions fund Critical Inputs into Clean Energy Infrastructure stream. The fund is awarded to assist industry to achieve targets in emissions within industries like cement, which are emissions intensive and challenging to address.
