BHP OLYMPIC DAM CORPORATION PTY LTD
At present studies are ongoing into an expansion of BHP's existing copper refining facilities at Olympic Dam to construct a two-stage smelter and associated refinery complex.
The proposed Smelter & Refinery Expansion (SRE) project will enable BHP to process significantly more concentrate from across its Copper SA operations. The scope will include copper concentrate import and blending facilities, additional smelting capacity, additional refining capacity and additional non-process infrastructure to support the expansion program.
As part of the SRE project, Olympic Dam will have a surplus of Sulphuric Acid from mid-2029.
BHP is looking for expressions of interest from suitably qualified suppliers to purchase or store Sulphuric Acid and invites responses to the following options:
1. Interest in purchasing the Sulphuric Acid from Olympic Dam site
2. Interest in purchasing the Sulphuric Acid transported to a different Delivery Point
3. Interest in storing the Sulphuric Acid at a location prior to sale by BHP
4. Any other options
