Overview

Cressbrook Dam is the Toowoomba Region's key source of drinking water, servicing over 180,000 residents. It was constructed in 1983 and is owned and operated by Toowoomba Regional Council. The dam is a 59 m high zoned earth fill dam with a 20.3 m uncontrolled (ungated) spillway.

The project's scope of works includes:

• widening of the existing spillway to a width of approximately 35m:
• replacing the left-hand side training wall
• demolishing the existing right-hand side training wall
• constructing a new right-hand side training wall
• constructing a reinforced concrete spillway crest extension
• constructing a new chute slab over the existing chute slab section
• installing concrete lining of exposed rock to provide a hydraulicly smooth surface
• removing the existing left-side chute wall
• constructing a new left-side chute wall
• upgrading the spillway chute floor to modern standards
• modifying the flip bucket
• off-site disposal of demolished concrete works
• extending the dam filters to the full height of the embankment up to crest level
• raising the dam crest earth embankment
• downstream berm modifications.
  

DELIVERY SCHEDULE

The project is currently in the detailed design phase and permanent works are scheduled to commence on site around Q3-Q4 2024. The forecast date for completion of the project is between Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) encourages local industry interested in supplying to the project to register an expression of interest (EOI) through the project's ICN Gateway webpage.

Information on specific supply opportunities will be communicated on the ICN Gateway project page as it becomes available, with local industry able to register its interest against them.

Please ensure that:

• Your company profile on the ICN Gateway is complete, up-to-date and accurate including electing to be notified via e-mail of supply opportunities
• You register your interest as a full or partial scope supplier (where applicable), and
• You respond to all project and work package-specific questions.

It is important that businesses submitting an EOI are aware that their submission does not guarantee that they will progress further in the procurement process. Companies that demonstrate the capability and capacity to meet the work package requirements and prequalify, will be invited to participate in future Request for Tender (RFT) processes.
