The Main Works - Package 3 scope to be delivered as part of this Project and includes the remaining works necessary to achieve the Project objectives and scope.
The following Early Works are subject to the final design solution adopted:
- Demolition of Gretta Volum Centre
- Site clearance, In ground services diversions and installations
- Footings and basement
- Ground floor slab
The Early Works are recognised as being a complex part of the Project dealing with a number of service diversions and other Site preparations to facilitate the Main Works. The exact scope of these works is still being determined and the State is looking to the Managing Contractor to assist in determination of the scope that would improve the overall Program.
The Main Works will see the construction of approximately 26,000m2 over several levels with links to existing buildings at the various levels. In addition, there will be approximately 3,000m2 of refurbishment works to existing buildings across the Site.
The new works and refurbished areas will provide expanded hospital departments and modern facilities to support the Health Provider to continue serving the Geelong and G21 region of Victoria with contemporary models of care well into the future. With new models of care and new design guidelines, the redevelopment will be flexible and able to respond to increasing demand expected over the coming years.
Any interested suppliers are required to register interest via the ICN Gateway.
