The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) seeks to upgrade the North Coast rail line between Beerburrum and Nambour Stations.
The upgrade will provide additional track capacity for freight and passenger services and deliver greater efficiency and reliability.
The project will be completed in stages to deliver community benefits while investigating funding for future stages.
Stage 1 - The main work will duplicate the section of the rail track between Beerburrum and Beerwah, address level crossings on the alignment, expand the park 'n' ride facility in Beerburrum, and undertake associated road works.
The John Holland Queensland Pty Ltd and Seymour Whyte Constructions Pty Ltd Joint Venture ("B2N JV") is the appointed Design and construction contractor for the main construction works of the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade. The QLD State Government currently engages the B2N JV under a Pre-Construction Design Agreement (PDA), which will be converted to a Construction Project Delivery Agreement (CPDA).
