Overview

Suburban Connect comprises a joint venture between CPB Contractors, Acciona and Ghella.

• CPB is one of Australia and New Zealand's leading construction companies across all sectors, including major rail and road tunnels. CPB is currently delivering the North East Link Primary Package and West Gate Tunnel Project in Melbourne. CPB is part of the CIMIC Group of companies.
• A global leader in construction and sustainability, ACCIONA achieved carbon neutrality in 2016.ACCIONA is currently delivering the Sydney Metro West Central Tunnelling Package (SMW CTP).
• Ghella is internationally renowned as a specialist in complex excavation and tunnelling, with a record of achieving world-class production rates, safety and environmental outcomes. Ghella has delivered three Sydney Metro packages and Legacy Way Tunnel in Brisbane.

The scope of works for SRL East Work Package C involves design and construction of:

• Twin bore tunnel structures of approximately 16km in length (between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley) including Cross Passages and low sump points
• Ground improvement works at Cheltenham and Clayton
• Portal Decline structures at the Western and Eastern portal at Southern Stabling Yard
• Two tunnel launch structures at Alex Fraser
• Protection structure at South East Trunk Sewer
• Clayton and Monash station box earth retention system and evacuation
• Interface works at the Melbourne Metropolitan Rail Network
• Viaduct adjacent to Clayton Station
• Tunnel Access at Monash Station to facilitate tunnelling operations support
