RAAF Darwin Refresh Program

RAAF Base Darwin is one of the Air Force's main forward operating bases. The RAAF Darwin Refresh Program consists of two projects within the Mid Term Refresh Project. The Mid Term Refresh Project will provide Base Support Infrastructure improvements at RAAF Darwin to support the sustained operation of the Base. The Project will develop and deliver new main and heavy vehicle entrances and supporting civil and infrastructure works. The Project will also replace the potable water, fire water and sewer reticulation networks on the Base. The second project will provide supporting facilities and infrastructure for the increased use of facilities at RAAF Darwin during key training activities. The project will deliver hardstands, shelters and supporting infrastructure to enable Air Force exercise and training requirements. Laing O'Rourke have been awarded as the Managing Contractor and are leading the development of the design during the Planning Phase. Subject to Defence, Government and Parliamentary approvals, this Program will commence Delivery Phase in Q2 2024 with construction to occur from 2024 to 2027.
