VESTAS AUSTRALIAN WIND TECHNOLOGIES PTY LTD
The land around Lotus Creek has farmed cattle for generations and Lotus Creek Wind Farm represents an opportunity for complementary economic activity.
The project area is approximately 20 km west of St Lawrence in central Queensland. It has strong winds, access to high voltage transmission lines and good road access with few neighbouring properties. Wind monitoring has shown an excellent wind resource with potential to provide a valuable contribution to Queensland's generation mix and support a large input of clean renewable energy into the network.
The proposal involves a layout of 55 Vestas Enventus turbines connected via a new substation to the on-site 275,000 volt Nebo to Broadsound powerlines owned and operated by Powerlink.
The development application was approved by the Queensland Government in May 2022 and the proposal was approved by the Commonwealth under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999in October 2022.
In December 2022 the project was acquired by Vestas Development A/S. Vestas is targeting commencement of construction in H2 2023.
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
Vestas encourages local industry interested in supplying to the project to provide a Expression of interest (EOI) through the ICN Gateway.
