The Cairns Tropical Enterprise Centre (CTEC) will perform research in fields like data science and Internet of Things research, bringing cutting-edge technology to the issues faced by health and medical professionals and their remote, rural, and Indigenous patients. This project will help to relocate JCU's Clinical School, from the Cairns University Hospital to the new purpose-built facility.
BESIX Watpac are proud to be involved in the design and delivery of such an innovative and important Project along with James Cook University's commitment to the city of Cairns. The project is in North Cairns on the site surrounded by Sheridan to Digger Street and Grove to Charles Street. The structure will be quite innovative in design to achieve Greenstar recognition whilst accommodating the Cairns climate. BESIX Watpac will be seeking to reinforce its current involvement and presence in Cairns maximising local content and participation on the project.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPPORTUNITIES
Contractors that express interest for the projects trade packages will be assessed against selection criteria and forwarded to BESIX Watpac for their consideration. The overall responsibility for the award of all trade packages rests solely with BESIX Watpac.
Contractors that have previously expressed interest on indicative trade packages against this project, are requested to review their registration and re-submit an EOI for the relevant trade package/s which have recently been updated on the ICN Gateway to reflect the current scope of works. Contractors are to ensure that they meet BESIX Watpac's selection criteria provided on the ICN Gateway for each trade package.
A key requirement of the project is compliance with the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, and this applies to all contractors. Contractors expressing interest for the trade packages are encouraged to provide this evidence as a response to the EOI and answer all other EOI questions diligently.
BUILDING CODE 2016
A key requirement of this project is compliance with the Building Code 2016. Contractors expressing interest for work packages are encouraged to provide evidence of their compliance with the Building Code 2016 within their EOI response.
