Australian Defence Export Office

The Australian Defence Export Office (ADEO) was established in April 2018 as a key initiative of the 2018 Defence Export Strategy. The ADEO is the focal point for coordinating whole-of-government defence export support for Australian defence industry, to ensure it can meet Australia’s defence capability needs now and into the future.

The ADEO tailors its assistance to Australian companies on a case-by-case basis, and endeavours to provide a targeted level of support across all stages of a company’s export journey.

Team Defence Australia

Team Defence Australia (TDA), as part of the ADEO, is the national platform for Australian defence industry to showcase their goods, services, technologies and solutions at international tradeshows.

Exhibiting with TDA is free, with successful companies responsible for their individual expenses. TDA provides free space on the custom-built National pavilion, pre-event support and advice including Austrade’s network of business advisors, invaluable senior military support and advocacy, market insight briefings, networking opportunities, B2B matching and on-site support at the show.

Online Pitch Training Program

The ADEO, in partnership with Marketing Entourage, have created a five week online pitch training program specifically for businesses looking to export defence and dual use goods and services. This training is fully subsidised for Australian Defence Industry businesses.

The program is specifically designed to improve the chances of success for Australian defence industry companies when engaging with opportunities to pitch their capabilities to foreign military and military suppliers. The training is delivered through a series of webinars, online modules and one-to-one pitch practice sessions.

Australian Defence Industry businesses are encouraged to apply by registering their interest at the link below. Multiple people from the same business can be included as a single application. Limited spaces are available on each cohort and the ADEO will prioritise businesses who have recently participated in an industry delegation with TDA.

Australian Defence Sales Catalogue

The Australian Defence Sales Catalogue provides information on Australian Defence Force equipment and defence industry products and services for sale to foreign government customers. Participation is subject to an application process but inclusion is free. More information is available here.

Trade missions and other events

The ADEO conducts international trade missions, supports the defence industry component of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour deployment, and runs other export-related events and missions in Australia and internationally. These targeted activities are organised to around specific events, and will be advertised here when applications are open.

As one of the premier US events for defence and aerospace professionals around the world, Air, Space & Cyber brings together Air Force senior leaders and experts from government, industry, and academia. From engaging speakers and panels focused on airpower, space, and cyber developments to the technology exposition featuring the latest technology, equipment, and solutions for tomorrow's problems, the conference has something for everyone.

There were over 12,000 attendees and more than 145 exhibitor booths at the 2019 Air, Space & Cyber Conference.

The TDA mission dates include a pre-event briefing on 13 September 2020.

AUSA Now (13 -16 October 2020 Online Event)25 Sep 202005 Oct 2020 
In lieu of a physical annual meeting and exposition event, Association of the United States Army (AUSA) have now created an online 4-day virtual event called AUSA Now. AUSA Now will take place on Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th October 2020.

The online meeting experience will comprise of the following features facilitated by AUSA:
- A virtual exhibit hall to promote your companies goods and services, with dedicated "Exhibitor Power Hours" ensuring no conflicts with the conference program.
- Companies will have the ability to request and receive requests for the online business-to-business and business-to-government meetings they were hoping to hold at AUSA 2020;
- Access to other virtual exhibitors through the online catalogue to facilitate your contacts and develop your business network with potential customers, suppliers and commercial and technological partners; and
- Access to web conferences, including a Secretary of Defense Keynote Presentation, and seminars featuring senior military personnel.

CONNECT (Eurosatory) - Online Business-2-Business Event - 14-15 September 202014 Jul 202017 Aug 2020 
In lieu of Eurosatory, COGES/GICAT have created an online 2-day Business-2-Business (B2B) meeting event called CONNECT.

The online B2B meeting experience will comprise of the following features as advertised by COGES:

- Facilitate your contacts and develop your business network with potential customers, suppliers and commercial and technological partners.

The biennial International Naval Defence & Maritime Exhibition and Conference (Euronaval) is one of the largest events dedicated to maritime safety and the naval defence industry.

Jointly organised under the French Ministry of Defence, the exhibition will showcase a full range of naval and maritime defence and security technologies, products and services. The exhibition will be preceded by a naval conference at the start of the week.

Euronaval 2018 saw over 25,000 attendees and 480 exhibitors from 33 countries, including key decision makers, acquisition leaders and capability managers.

Farnborough International Airshow Connect - Meet the Buyer (21 July 2020 Online Event)27 May 202012 Jun 2020

Connecting decision-making buyers and industry suppliers from around the world, Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) Connect's Meet the Buyer Programme is one of the most popular and longstanding features of the Farnborough International Airshow.

The Meet the Buyer Programme provides suppliers with guaranteed pre-arranged face to face video conference meetings with global buyers and decision makers. Meetings are arranged through FIA Connect's bespoke system which matches suppliers with relevant buyers based on their procurement requirements and your offering.

There is a maximum of 3 meetings per supplier, in pre-arranged 15-minute meeting slots.

The 2018 Meet the Buyer Programme saw over 900 meetings take place, resulting in 11.4m worth of business being generated over the two days.

Encompassing the entire aerospace and aviation supply chain, the Meet the Buyer Programme covers aerospace, defence, space, security, MRO, airlines, and airport services/equipment.

Sea-Air-Space brings defence industry and key military decision-makers together for three days of informative educational sessions, important policy discussions and a dynamic exhibit hall floor.

Owned and produced by the Navy League of the United States, Sea-Air-Space attracts maritime leaders from sea services around the globe.

Vietnam International Defence Exposition (24 - 27 October 2020 Hanoi Vietnam )11 Jun 202008 Jul 2020 
Vietnam International Defence Expo 2020 presents an opportunity for international manufacturers and suppliers to network, present, introduce and demonstrate their products, equipment and services to Vietnam's defense and security forces. The International Defence Expo is expecting attendance and exhibits from over 200 companies from 20 countries and territories.

The International Defence Expo will coincide with the ASEAN Defence Ministers' meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) from 24-28 October and it is proposed that the ADMM-Plus Ministers will attend the formal opening of the Expo. This may increase attendance of senior defence officials from other countries within ASEAN, in addition to Vietnamese Defence Officials and Vietnamese People's Army Officers. This may provide a good engagement opportunity for companies who have interests in the region other than Vietnam.

Virtual Interservice/Industry Training Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) 30 Nov - 4 Dec29 Oct 202010 Nov 2020 
The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) is the world's largest modeling, simulation and training event. Held from 30 Nov - 4 December 2020 in the USA, virtual I/ITSEC consists of peer-reviewed paper presentations, tutorials, special events, professional workshops, a virtual exhibit hall, and STEM events for teachers.

TDA support capacity: up to 10 companies. Please refer to "TDA Information for Companies" attachment for information on the expression of interest selection criteria.

Companies applying to take part in virtual I/ITSEC with TDA MUST make themselves available and be online during the show hours (US business hours).
Virtual Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) 17-21 May 202122 Apr 202112 May 2021 
The virtual Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) is an important opportunity for industry to interact with the SOF community and collaborate on the challenges, initiatives, and way-ahead in delivering cutting-edge capabilities into the hands of SOF operators.

Virtual SOFIC offers industry attendees significant opportunities for business intelligence, detailed insights, tips and information on what capabilities are most desired by the SOF community and how to conduct business with the U.S. Special Operations Command. Attendees will hear from top USSOCOM leadership on challenges, trends, and capability gaps facing the force and participate with Program Executive Offices through live sessions and individually prescheduled meetings.
