The Jemalong Solar Project (JSP or the Project) is a 50MWac, 60MWdc greenfield project located 35km south west of Forbes (approximately 150km west of Orange) in NSW. The site is 141ha spread across two parcels of land historically used for agricultural production. The site comprises a substation, solar panel array, internal access tracks and corridor for a 66kV powerline.
The Key Project components include:
✓ photovoltaic solar modules (approximately 150,000 modules)
✓ single-axis tracking module framing system mounted on steel piles
✓ 20 containerized Power Conversion Units (PCUs)
✓ a substation containing transformers, associated switchgear and control and protection equipment
✓ operations and maintenance buildings with associated car parking
✓ road upgrade works on the site access route
✓ above ground and underground cabling
✓ internal all-weather access tracks
✓ security system and security fencing
✓ native vegetation plantings to provide visual screening
✓ meteorological station(s); and
✓ a 66kV transmission line (approximately 5km long) connecting the onsite substation to the existing Essential Energy West Jemalong substation.
Procurement is expected to commence following Financial Close (FC) of the Project in December 2019 with construction to commence in Q1 2020. Construction is expected to take 9 months with the Project being operational in Q4 CY2020/Q1 2021.SHOW LESS
