EnergyConnect is the construction of a new high-voltage transmission line running between Wagga Wagga in New South Wales and Robertstown in South Australia, with an added connection to north west Victoria.
The route will pass though renewable energy zones and means future renewable projects in these areas will be able to connect to the grid and supply new energy to the network.
EnergyConnect will deliver a range of direct benefits for consumers across the National Electricity Market including lower power prices, improved energy security and increased economic activity.
TransGrid is currently undertaking a procurement process to appoint a Principal Contractor. Businesses interested in either supplying or sub-contracting to the successful tenderer are invited to register their interest.
