APA Group is one of Australia’s leading energy infrastructure businesses, owning and operating the largest interconnected gas transmission network across the country.


Their 15,000 kilometres of natural gas pipelines connect sources of supply and markets across mainland Australia. APA Group operate and maintain networks connecting 1.4 million Australian homes and businesses to the benefits of natural gas. APA own or have interests in gas storage facilities, gas-fired power stations and renewable energy generation (wind and solar farms). All up, APA own or manage and operate a portfolio of assets in excess $20 billion and deliver half the nation’s natural gas usage.


In the Northern Territory, APA Group own and operate the Amadeus Gas Pipeline which transports natural gas to Darwin, Alice Springs, and regional centres, principally to fuel power generation. They also manage and operate gas pipelines owned by Energy Infrastructure Investments, including the Bonaparte Gas Pipeline.

Sourcing, category management and contractor and supplier management for goods and services are undertaken at the level for each category deemed most appropriate by APA - be it at a national, regional, and/or an individual asset/site level.

APA’s requirements in the NT

APA’s NT Operations arm are based in Darwin. In addition, APA’s Infrastructure Development group undertake a range of new capital projects from time to time.

APA’s requirements include:

  • Contractors and their subcontractors providing labour, equipment and materials for capital works such as connections for mining and power generation customers including new and increased capacity Transmission gas pipelines and compression facilities
  • Various energy infrastructure related professional services and consultancies
  • Various materials, products and equipment, and installation and maintenance:
    • pipe, pipe fittings, sleeves and coatings, 
    • valves, actuators and regulators
    • instrumentation and electrical equipment 
    • operations consumables 

Interested companies are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) against the ‘APA Group – General Updates’ package listed below. Updates will be posted periodically until specific work packages are released.
