Rookwood Weir and Associated Infrastructure Project

The Rookwood Weir and Associated Infrastructure project involves the construction of a new water storage facility on the Fitzroy River, approximately 66 kilometres south-west of Rockhampton in Central Queensland. The development was identified in the Central Queensland Regional Water Supply Strategy to help meet future urban agricultural and industrial water demand in Rockhampton, Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast.

The project encompasses:

  • construction of the Rookwood Weir and associated ancillary infrastructure
  • upgrading Thirsty Creek Road and the intersection with the Capricorn Highway at Gogango
  • construction of bridges and a low level culvert crossing.

Once constructed, Rookwood Weir will supply water for the region - a resource that will support local economic growth by providing water for future agricultural diversification, industrial development and improved water security for Rockhampton, Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast.

The Rookwood Weir project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments.

REGISTRATION OF INTEREST (ROI) OPPORTUNITIES

Local industry interested in finding more about the project should read this page in detail.

Suppliers should note:

  • This is an initial, general registration of interest to supply to the project.
  • They must have an ICN Gateway company profile which is complete, up-to-date and accurate in order to register their interest. Information on how to register your business on ICN Gateway is provided below.
  • Registrations of interest may be provided to contractors invited to tender on the project and included in a project-specific supply market analysis being prepared by the ICN.

It is important that businesses registering their interest are aware that their registration does not guarantee that they will progress further in any procurement processes. Only businesses that can demonstrate capability and capacity in accordance with project requirements will be considered by Sunwater and its contractors.

Further information regarding project progression will be communicated on our ICN Gateway project page as it becomes available.

ICN GATEWAY COMPANY REGISTRATION

  • The full content of your company profile is used to assess your ability to complete projects - please ensure that your business invests the time and energy required to represent itself in the most effective manner possible.
  • Support and assistance is available through the organisations listed below.
