LAMBRUK SOLAR FARM

The Lambruk Solar Farm is a state significant development (SSD) located approximately 15 km southeast of Tamworth in north west NSW. The Project would involve the construction, operation and decommissioning of a PV solar facility with a capacity of approximately 500 MW (DC) and 300 MW (AC) that would supply electricity to the National Electricity Market and a battery energy storage system (BESS) with an indicative capacity of up to 300 MW / 1,200 MWh.

The Project is being developed by Venn Energy, an Australian renewable energy company, developing more than 1 GW of renewable energy projects across the country, including solar and energy storage. With decades of experience in renewable energy development, Venn Energy has a locally based project team dedicated to managing the Lambruk Solar Project.

The Project is currently in environmental assessment and technical specialists have been engaged to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS).

If approved construction of the Project would take between 2-3 years. Construction timing will be confirmed once a Principal Contractor has been engaged.

The Project has an operational lifespan of about 30 years.

Construction would generate up to 350 full-time equivalent jobs during peak construction, with 15 full-time equivalent ongoing jobs for maintenance and operations.

Venn Energy is committed to the local procurement of goods and services from businesses for accommodation, meals, machinery contractors, construction trades, surveyors, cleaning services, security services, training service providers, building supplies, waste contractors and more.

Registrations of interest are now open for the indicative works packages on this page. Engagement of contractors and the procurement of goods and services for the Project will be undertaken by the Principal Contractor, who has not yet been appointed. The purpose of this registration of interest is to gauge local capacity and supply to encourage the use of local businesses wherever possible.
