Land Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (LISREW) and Land Mobility and Support Program (LM&SP) are exploring options for the replacing of in service camouflage net system. The proliferation of advanced sensors has made the current camouflage net solution no longer fit for purpose.

Defence now seeks to understand the range of products available through Australian vendors that produce multispectral camouflage nets to inform future procurement activity of this product.

Defence is interested in learning the specification and rough order of magnitude budgeting of multispectral camouflage nets available in regards to meeting the requirement:

The AUS-MSCS is used to tactically conceal military equipment including wheeled vehicles, armoured vehicles, logistic vehicles, rotary and fixed wing aircraft, field positions, logistic areas and installations. The primary threat remains visual observation; however, the proliferation of multi-spectral sensors and radar systems is expected with peer and near peer threat. Observation is expected from terrestrial, aerial and space based system and should also include non-traditional observers such as the local human population.

Australian companies are invited to express the interest (EOI) of what product and service they would like to offer in the supply of multispectral camouflage nets and complete a confidential questionnaire.
