About the Project
Viva Energy is proposing to construct and operate Australia's first publicly accessible service station that offers hydrogen refuelling and electric vehicle recharging for heavy fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). In an Australian first, the New Energies Service Station will have the capability to dispense renewable hydrogen in commercial quantities and refuel a fleet of heavy FCEVs consecutively.

The project will comprise of a service station with hydrogen generation and dispensing capabilities, electric vehicle (EV) recharging facilities and conventional diesel refuelling of vehicles, with all three fuels targeting the heavy vehicle market. The New Energies Service Station is Australia's most ambitious green hydrogen mobility project announced to-date and will place Victoria at the forefront of Australia's ambitions for hydrogen as a zero emission solution for the commercial road transport sector.

The project value encompasses the full project scope of up to 15 heavy vehicles, hydrogen refuelling equipment and service station construction.

Vendor Accreditation Process

The Contractor Management Accreditation System (CMAS) for HSSE was developed to provide the foundations to confirm that HSSE risks are managed to As Low As Reasonable Practicable (ALARP) where contractors are engaged to undertake work for Viva Energy. Viva Energy Australia utilises the services of a third-party service provider, ISN Australia, for the administration and management of the initial stages of the contractor accreditation process. ISN Australia facilitates the collection of self-reported information from contractors and maintains it in a centralized database called ISNetworld.

ISNetworld records the Contractors HSSE Management Plans and verifies appropriate insurances have been obtained. The requirement for ISNetworld accreditation applies to all contractors - and only contractors who have an A or B dashboard grading in ISNetworld can be engaged to perform work on Viva Energy sites. The Contractor's HSSE Management Plan details the processes used by the contractor to manage the workplace health and safety of personnel engaged to perform the works. The contractor (and any subcontractors engaged by the contractor) must meet the requirements of both the Contractor HSSE Plan and also the Viva Energy Project HSSE Plan at all times.

In addition to accreditation in ISNetworld, as part of the contracting and award process Viva Energy also performs contract specific HSSE evaluations when considering Contractors for execution of project works.
