MELConnx, a consortium led by Laing O'Rourke Australia Construction Pty Limited, is responding to the Public Transport Authority's RFP for the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Design and Construction Project.
The Project will include designing, constructing and commissioning 21 kilometres of rail track from Bayswater, up the middle of Tonkin Highway, through land north of Marshall Road, along the western side of Drumpellier Drive (formerly New Lord Street) and finish in the Ellenbrook town centre.
Stations will be built in Ellenbrook, Whiteman Park, Malaga, Noranda and Morley with a station planned at Bennett Springs East, as population levels increase and development progresses in the area.
The scope also includes delivering rail systems that support the network, bulk earthworks and retaining structures, structures, grade separations, road and drainage.
To support the Project's industry participation objectives, MELconnx are seeking early engagement with local suppliers in order to maximise opportunities for local industry. We are inviting expressions of interest from Western Australian companies interested in supplying to or in participating in this project. If shortlisted for the next stage, MELconnx will use the information from this expression of interest to assist in engaging with local suppliers during the Alliance Development Stage.
