Project Details


 

David Brown Santasalo has partnered with BAE Systems Australia in their bid for the SEA5000 Program.

 

The SEA5000 Program will oversee the acquisition of nine high-capability Future Frigates for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). These major surface combatants will be capable of Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), with a strong emphasis on Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW).

 

BAE Systems Australia is bidding for SEA 5000 with its Type 26 Global Combat Ship (GCS) design.

 

The ships will be built in Adelaide, South Australia, with the first steel expected to be cut in 2020.

 

David Brown Santasalo is inviting expressions of Interest from industry to help understand the maritime capability in Australia and maximise the commercial opportunities for suppliers.

To be shot blasted and supplied in primed painted condition

Materials are high cleanliness (low Sulphur and phosphorous) carburising gear steel 18CrNiMo7-6 EN10084 to ISO 6336-5 ME grade and high grade shaft steels 34CrNiMo6 EN10083, 42CrMo4 EN 10083-3 and 36NiCrMo16 EN10083. Australian equivalents may be proposed for acceptance.
