The men and women of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) perform a unique role, in dangerous circumstances on behalf of our nation. The ADF takes its duty of care to service personnel very seriously and their health and wellbeing is a key Defence priority. Defence delivers the best holistic health care in Australia, ensuring ADF members have access to the highest quality, evidence based health and medical care – wherever they serve.
In mid-2012, Joint Health Command (JHC) within Defence announced a ground breaking agreement with Medibank Health Solutions (MHS) to work in collaboration to deliver an improved national healthcare solution. Since then, Garrison Health Services (GHS) has delivered access to quality, comprehensive healthcare to ADF personnel throughout Australia.
JHC is committed to continuous improvement in the provision of health care and collaborates with government and private organisations to ensure Defence continues to meet the health and medical needs of ADF personnel.
JHC intends to procure a new health services delivery arrangement to continue to support the delivery of health services to the ADF via the Next Generation Health Services (NGHS) Project.
The Commonwealth’s proposed NGHS procurement schedule is shown below

With its commitment to JHC and the ADF, its successful delivery record on GHS, its commitment to the Australian Healthcare industry and its commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement in health service delivery, Medibank Health Solutions is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified organisations from throughout Australia to participate in its pursuit of the NGHS project.
