The Project

Clarke Creek Wind, Solar and Battery power generation is owned by Squadron Energy and is now under construction, making it the biggest grid connected renewable energy project underway in Australia.

Stage One and Two will produce enough wind, solar and battery energy to power more than 660,000 homes, equivalent to 40 per cent of Queensland households, and will export lower cost electricity directly into the National Electricity Market, directly lowering power prices for millions of Queensland households and businesses.

Clarke Creek Wind Farm is located within the locality of Clarke Creek, approximately 150 kilometres north west of Rockhampton in Central Queensland. The wind farm extends approximately 55km north to south along the Broadsound Range.

The Queensland Government has approved the construction and operation of up to 195 wind turbines and ancillary civil and electrical infrastructure.

The first stage of the project is planned to include 100 Goldwind turbines totalling 450MW.

Timing

Construction for stage 1 is underway with a completion date in Q4 of 2024.

Construction delivery

The project will be constructed by Windlab with two main BoP contractors. And four other main contract suppliers.

Supply and Install Wind Turbines

Goldwind will supply and install wind turbines to the project.

Goldwind will supply and install all metrological met masts.

Goldwind will also supply the ongoing maintenance for the wind turbines.

Siemens

Supply and installation of the synchronous condenser.

DB Building

Offsite Road Works

Local Business Participation Program

Squadron & Windlab (EPCM) are committed to facilitating local sourcing for the project where feasible through a Local Business Participation Program. Under the first stage of the Program (Prior to NTP), local industry can register their interest in specific work packages on ICN Gateway.

During the second stage industry briefings will be held in the local areas.

Stage three, spanning project construction and transition into operations phase, will allow the major subcontractors to engage subcontractors.

Expressions of Interest

To participate in one of the Programs and register your interest, please ensure that:

  • Your company profile on the ICN Gateway is complete, up-to-date and accurate including electing to be notified via e-mail of supply opportunities
  • You register your interest as a full or partial scope supplier (where applicable), and
  • You respond to all project and work package-specific questions.

It is important that businesses submitting an EOI are aware that their submission does not guarantee that they will progress further in the procurement process. Only companies that can demonstrate capability and capacity in accordance with Balance of Plant contractors & Australia's standards will be invited to pre-qualify for specific opportunities.
