Project Details

In 2016 Navantia was awarded the contract to build two (2) Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) ships. These ships will replace existing vessels HMAS Success and HMAS Sirius and will be known as the Supply Class. The AORs will provide operational support to the Navy’s fleet by providing fuel, munitions and stores.

Australian industry is playing a key role in the build of the AORs with a minimum $120 million investment into Australian products, skills and expertise. As part of this, 4,500 tonnes of steel has been sourced from Bluescope Steel. The AORs Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) will be sustained in Australia by Sage Automation. Hobart’s Taylor Bros is supplying a range of services including hospital, laundry and gallery fitouts. SAAB Australia will supply the combat management system and Raytheon Australia, the communications systems.

Even though we have access to a large number of Australian suppliers and service providers, Navantia Australia is always looking to incorporate and include new ones as we are fully aware of the potential that the Australian Industry can provide. This includes Small to Medium Enterprises that are willing to be a part of an ever evolving and growing opportunity to support the Royal Australian Navy and potentially future Navantia projects.

Suppliers interested in participating in supporting the AORs, or any other Navantia project, are requested to respond to the Navantia Expressions of Interest on the ICN Portal. Navantia seeks to engage with industry on specific work requirements and packages, and suppliers with compatible capabilities will be contacted.

AOR Industry Partner Request for Tender31 May 195 Jul 19
Navantia has been contracted by the Commonwealth of Australia to fully Support the newly built Supply Class Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) Capability for a period of five (5) years commencing 20 June 2020.
Navantia will create an Enterprise arrangement with an Industry Partner and other supporting agencies to enhance the Australian and maritime industries in support of the AOR Capability. The draft Contract that forms the basis of this request for tender is for a variety of Maintenance, Supply and ancillary Support Services for the AOR Capability. This support is to be provided over a five (5) year period; commencing Jun 2020, and also includes an additional six (6) month Ramp Up period beginning in December 2019. The Contract will cover the Maintenance Services for both ships, covering all External Maintenance Periods, Maintenance Windows of Opportunity, Dockings and other Maintenance Services provided from both Fleet Base East (Woolloomooloo, NSW) and Fleet Base West (Rockingham, WA). It will also include minor Supply Support Services for warehousing and logistics.
This RFT will be conducted in two stages. The first stage consists of scenario questions and an initial limited quote in order for Navantia to short list tenderers. This will be followed by a comprehensive RFT submission to select the preferred tenderers.

Interested parties will need to register their interest by emailing aaorsupportprogram@navantia.es for a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Once this is executed, the tenderer will be emailed the RFT Pack for response.

Navantia has been contracted by the Commonwealth of Australia to fully Support the newly built Supply Class Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) Capability for a period of five (5) years commencing 20 June 2020.
Navantia will create an Enterprise arrangement with the AOR Sustainment Program Office (AORSPO), an Industry Partner and other supporting agencies to enhance the Australian and maritime industries in support of the AOR Capability. To achieve this, we will need to develop, draft and publish standardised operating procedures, plans, processes and other supporting documentations. These documents will be the knowledge centre for the Enterprise and will need to be enduring and comply with the Defence Writing Standards. The successful applicant for this work package will be expected to provide 'on-site' (at Garden Island, Woolloomooloo, NSW) technical writer support for a 12 month period.
