Project Details

Rod Laver Arena Refurbishment

The Melbourne and Olympic Parks Masterplan (the Masterplan) was initially completed in 2009 and has recently been updated.  The Masterplan describes a major redevelopment of Melbourne Park to secure its future as the home of the Australian Open, and to maintain its status as a world-class sport and entertainment precinct.

Stage 1 of the redevelopment was conceived in line with the 2009 Masterplan and was completed prior to the Australian Open 2015. Stage 1 consisted of three subprojects: the Early Works, the Eastern Plaza (National Tennis Centre) and the Western Precinct (redevelopment of Margaret Court Arena).

On 12 January 2014, the Premier along with Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) announced $338.15 million in funding to deliver Stage 2 of the Melbourne Park Redevelopment. Project Website
