CH2M Hill - UGL JV and GE consortium has been engaged as the EPC Contractor for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Ichthys EPC of Combined Cycle Power Plant.
This contract includes the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) at Ichthys Onshore LNG Facilities, Blaydin Point in Darwin, Australia.
The CCPP is expected to be designed for approximately 500 megawatt of electrical power demand and will be operated following Australian industry standards and practices.
The CCPP will be designed for island mode operation i.e. no availability of electrical power from local power grid.
Reliability, availability of power and minimum greenhouse gas emissions will be key factors to be considered in the design of the power plant.
All utilities including fuel gas, demineralised water, etc will be supplied from the LNG Onshore Facilities and interface between the CCPP Supplier and LNG Contractor (JKC) will be required. Isopentane (iC5) gas will be generated within the Onshore Facilities and is required to be consumed by the CCPP.
CH2M Hill UGL JV are responsible for all works from conceptual engineering up to performance and acceptance tests of the Combined Cycle Power Plant.
