AIR5428 Pilot Training Systems Facilities Project (J0024) RAAF Base Pearce & RAAF Base Gingin

Laing O'Rourke has been appointed as the Managing Contractor for Project J0024, AIR5428 Pilot Training System (PTS) Facilities project. The PTS Facilities project will be responsible for key infrastructure at the RAAF Base at East Sale in Victoria, and RAAF Bases Pearce and Gingin in Western Australia, as well as related minor works in South Australia and New South Wales.

Air7000 Phase 2B Project - RAAF Edinburgh

Lendlease' South Australian Building & Engineering Business Units have been awarded the Managing Contractor role for the planning phase of this large scale Commonwealth project. Works are scheduled to commence in Q2 2016 and be completed in 2018, with priority tendering and procurement to occur Q1 2016. 

Amrun (South of Embley) Project

The Amrun Project is a greenfield bauxite operation in the Weipa / Aurukun region of Western Cape York in Far North Queensland. The new development will eventually replace the existing East Weipa mine centre and develop the high quality bauxite reserves available south of the Weipa Peninsula.

In late 2015, the Rio Tinto Board approved development of the first stage of the project, up to 22.8mtpal. Construction of the Amrun Project will take approximately three years and provide employment for 1,100 (at peak).

Arrowis an integrated coal seam gas (CSG) company that explores and develops gas fields, produces and sells CSG and generates electricity.


Arrow is owned by a 50/50 joint venture partnership between Shell and PetroChina.

 

BAE Systems LAND 400 Phase 2 Bid

BAE Systems and Patria of Finland recently announced a teaming arrangement to pursue a major Australian combat vehicle program.

Together, the team will work to secure the anticipated LAND 400 Phase 2 Defence Program for the acquisition and support of a Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV), with BAE Systems as prime contractor. Patrias 8x8 Armoured Modular Vehicle (AMV) provides the ideal Military Off The Shelf option for the program.


Beetaloo Basin Project - Exploration Phase

Origin, together with joint venture partners Sasol and Falcon Oil & Gas, is investing in the exploration of the Northern Territory's Beetaloo Basin.

BP Great Australian Bight Exploration

BP was awarded four exploration permits off the coast of South Australia, approximately 300 km south-west of Ceduna in 2011.

The exploration work proposed by BP included a 3D seismic survey of an area covering 11,400 square kilometres which was completed in 2012-13, along with the drilling of four exploration wells which are expected to commence in 2016 subject to regulatory approvals.

It is anticipated that drilling will commence in 2016 subject to regulatory approvals.

Calder Highway (Ravenswood) Interchange Project

The Calder Highway and Calder Alternative Highway both form a very important part to the Melbourne-Mildura transport corridor, which supports major agricultural, mining, processing and manufacturing industries.

Carrara Sports Precinct

The Carrara Sports & Leisure Centre (CS&LC) is a new permanent legacy facility that will be owned and operated by the City of Gold Coast that includes two large sports halls separated by a multi-storey internal street and at-grade parking under the whole facility. One hall will function as the Badminton competition venue and the other as the Wrestling competition venue during the Games. The sports halls must be suitable for community and elite level competition and training for numerous indoor sports including basketball and netball and other non-sporting uses such as exhibitions and cultural activities. It is proposed that Hall One will be able to convert into a 5,000 seat, air conditioned show court suitable for national/international sporting competitions, cultural events and televised/broadcast events.
