About the Australia Pacific LNG Project

The Australia Pacific LNG Project is a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) project based in Queensland.

Australia Pacific LNG is already the largest producer of CSG in Australia, supplying gas to power stations to produce lower emissions electricity; major industrial customers, homes and businesses in South East Queensland. The Project will see an increase in domestic gas production to further supply gas-fired power stations, major industrial customers and residents throughout Queensland.

It'll be a source of major investment through to 2020, creating around 6,000 jobs throughout the life of the Project, increasing local skills and boosting regional economies.

Importantly Queensland will have a new, long-term gas processing and export industry that generates significant benefits at regional, state and national levels.

And, although LNG export is a relatively young industry in Australia, the Project is making use of the experience of ConocoPhillips as a joint venture partner who already owns and has been operating an LNG facility in Darwin since 2006.

Bechtel has appointed the Downstream contractor for the construction of the LNG plant on Curtis Island near Gladstone

CSG is not a new industry for Australia. The Project's joint venture partner, Origin, has been working in regional Queensland for nearly 30 years and in the field of CSG for close to 15 years.

The Project brings together a joint venture between three industry leaders in the fields of coal seam gas and liquefied natural gas production – Origin (37.5%), ConocoPhillips (37.5%) and Sinopec (25%).

Supplier opportunities

The most effective way to register for opportunities to supply goods and services to the Australia Pacific LNG Project is to enter your details and capabilities now via this Project Portal on the ICN Gateway. It’s simple – just complete the Supplier Registration Form by clicking on the Register button at the top left side of the home page.

This portal is managed in association with the Industry Capability Network (ICN) who assist Australia Pacific LNG and its Contractors by helping identify companies that can supply goods and services to the required standards.

The registration process is a self-managed one where interested suppliers and vendors must keep their details up to date and monitor the portal for upcoming opportunities. Completing the Supplier Registration Form means suppliers need to provide information about their qualifications and capabilities to perform or supply goods or services. This includes a description of similar assignments and experiences in comparable conditions, detailing the appropriate skills for the nominated Work Scope Expression of Interest.

For more information about the supplier registration process for the Project read the supplier registration

Supplier_Registration_Process.pdf fact sheet.

Australia Pacific LNG will short-list eligible suppliers and vendors from the Expression of Interest to a Request for Information (RFI) requirement.

Suppliers and vendors are reminded that registering your Expression of Interest does not guarantee that you will receive a Request for Information.

Assess your business capabilities

The Australia Pacific LNG Project needs suppliers ranging in size and capabilities. For this reason, a tool to help suppliers assess their company capabilities against one of several supplier tiershas been developed – this tool is called the Tiered Assessment Tool.

The Tiered Assessment Tool requires you to answer questions about your company and the goods or services you are able to provide. Once the questions are answered, you will be provided with a report to indicate which tier your company fits into as a supplier to a major project.

Before you answer the questions in the Tiered Assessment Tool, you’ll need to register your company profile on this site at Company Wizard

Once you’ve registered your company profile, access the Tier Assessment Tool by clicking on the link under the Register button called ‘Assess your tier level’.
