Under the Commonwealth Government supplier acces to major projects (SAMP) program, ICN NSW will lead trade missions to South America and Africa to introduce Australian mining equipment and service exporters to expand their global markets.
The program will run for two years, and will concentrate on the requirements of Xstrata, Vale, and Barrick Gold mines in South America and Africa. Other major international miners will also be invited to join the program in hosting Australian trade delegations.
Opportunities for ANZ exports may be found in:
• Engineering – procurement – construction – management (EPCM)
• Contract mining services
• Maintenance services
• Mine safety equipment and services
• Training services
• Mining software and programs
• Project management services
• Mine communications and locator systems (including underground mining)
• Environmental monitoring, protection and remediation equipment and services.
• Geological and exploration equipment and services.
ICN NSW is collaborating with Austmine, Austrade, Enterprise Connect, Mining Equipment & Services Council of Australia (MESCA) and Hunternet on this program.
Existing good business relationships between ICN and Xstrata, Vale and Barrick Gold will be leveraged to identify opportunities for ANZ companies with internationally competitive mining equipment and services.
The program will:
• Establish relationships with client managers in South America and Africa
• Identify specific export opportunities
• Identify internationally competitive ANZ suppliers
• Introduce ANZ companies to appropriate buyer contacts
• Seek to extend opportunities for successful ANZ exporters throughout mining clients global supply chains
• Endeavour to enlist other major international mining companies as program clients
